Job Description

• Mission

• Carry out instructions issued by the Chief Officer, Duty Officers and Bosun.

• Accountability

• Be aware and committed with the NEWS concept.

• Ensure that neither the vessel nor crew facilitate unsafe practices.

• Committed to follow up all processes, procedures, and policies.

• Ensure PPE are wear at all time

• Take part in HSE campaign deployment as instructed by the Master or Chief Officer

• In any doubt, should call the Chief Officer or the Duty Officer.

• Ensure routine maintenance duties (clean, chip & paint) as required and instructed.

• Responsible to maintain the deck equipment and machinery as instructed by the Bosun and Chief Officer.

• Assist in cargo handling operation.

• Ensure deck Cargo is adequately lashed taking in account the weather forecasts, area and sea state.

• Responsible to keep the deck lockers in a clean and orderly manner all the times.

• Responsible for an efficient management of the Deck material and equipment and to keep the Chief Officer informed about their stocks.

• Assist in vessel’s mooring and unmooring in port as well at offshore locations.

• If assigned to the navigational watch, responsible to maintain a sharp lookout during all the times.

• If assigned to a Port watch, responsible to maintain a Security lookout when at the Gangway.

• If assigned to perform safety/security rounds, responsible to report any anomaly situation to the Duty Officer.

• Ensure a good cooperation with the client representative on board.

• Ensure that there is a smooth operational relationship with all clients.

• Ensure timely and immediate reporting of any issue raised by Client on-board.

• Ensure factual reporting Charterer in conjunction with Ship-owner interests.

• Ensuring the safeguard of the Owner’s and Company’s interest at all times.

• Protect Ship-Owner interest in all circumstances by ensuring proper and confidential approach as required.

• The undertaking of any other duties or instructions as required by the company.
