The Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfers (HACT) is under the leadership of the Deputy Representative Operations. HACT is a cross-cutting issue and the main framework for cash transfer to partners. HACT comprises four major elements that serve as pillars in implementation of the HACT principles.

These are: Capacity assessments, Cash Transfers, Assurance Activities and Capacity Development. Cash transfer to Implementing Partners (IP) represent a significant portion of UNICEF’s financial contribution towards the achievement of its programmatic results.

UNICEF Ethiopia is recruiting for two HACT internship positions to support the HACT-related functions.

How can you make a difference?

HACT Internship 1:

Under the supervision of the Senior Project Associate, this intern will support the HACT Hub team in keeping the shared document tracker for request and liquidation, follow-up on pending transfers with the team, and participate in activities supporting the HACT team as needed. This includes:

  • Update and keep track of the shared point HACT cash transfer tracker.

  • Support the team in identifying which are the pending transfers so that proper follow-up is done for the respective FO and sections.

  • Support the team in having the proper cash forecast for the week, by updating the tracker.

  • Support
    in the preparation of periodic reports.

  • Assist in spot checks as required

    HACT Internship 2: ]

    Under the supervision of the HACT Specialist, the intern will support the HACT team in carrying out assurance activities, upload reports on eTools, organizing documentation for spot checks and audit for external service providers, and follow up on pending action points. This includes:

  • Assist in compiling data for spot check and audit of external service providers.

  • Upload spot check and other reports on eTools.

  • Support follow up on pending assurance action actions.

  • Support in preparation of periodic reports.

  • Assist in spot checks as required; and

  • Support in facilitating capacity development trainings.

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • He or she should be enrolled at a university in Ethiopia at the undergraduate or graduate level or be a recent graduate (within the past two years) in Accounting/Finance or related field is required.

  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of MS Office is required.

  • Fluency in English is required.
