UNICEF Deputy Representative Programme Jobs in Kenya



Key Functions & Accountabilities

  • Country Office programme planning and development.

  • Support to the Representative on managing the Country Office.

  • Monitoring and quality control of programmes.

  • Representation, alliance building and UN system coordination.

  • Private sector engagement and partnerships.

  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education

  • Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Government and Public Relations, Public or Social Policy, Sociology, Social or Community Development, or another relevant technical field.

    Work Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of professional development experience combining technical and managerial leadership in development cooperation at the international level.

  • Experience in developing countries required.

  • Relevant professional experience in any UN system agency or organization (asset).

  • Experience in humanitarian settings strongly desired.

    Skills

  • Negotiation skills.

  • Emotional intelligence.

  • Risk‑taking ability.

  • Soft skills for sensitive political settings.

  • Ability to work under pressure in high‑threat environments.

    Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English required.

  • Knowledge of a local language is an asset.

    Desirables

  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
