    Under the supervision of the Administrative Associate, the Receptionist attends to the reception area, greets and directs visitors according to the Compound Access Control Procedures. The Receptionist also operates the switchboard, screens and transfers telephone calls.

    Key duties:

  • You will attend to the reception area by receiving all scheduled and unscheduled visitors and directing them to the appropriate Section or Individuals, after verifying purpose of visit, name and Organization, in line with Compound Access Control Procedures.
  • When a visitor’s business is of routine nature, you will provide necessary routine information
  • You will operate the telephone switchboard by managing all incoming local and international calls and routes them to the relevant staff members or Sections.
  • You will also ensure the proper functioning of telephone equipment
    and works with ICT on repairs and maintenance

    Requirements:

  • A secondary education is required;
  • A minimum of three years of work experience as a receptionist or in general office/clerical duties;
  • Fluency of the local language of the duty station as well as proficiency in English is required;
  • Good computer skills;
  • Knowledge of switchboard operation and office procedures;
  • Good oral expression and communication skills;
  • Polite and mature personality.
