UNHCR Verification Team Leader Jobs in Kenya


A verification exercise was conducted in Kakuma Refugee Camp in 2016 in partnership with Refugee Affairs Secretariat (RAS) and other partners and in 2018 in Kalobeyei settlement. With the implementation of KISEDP and the need to find localized solutions for refugees, the Operation decided to conduct a verification in Kakuma camp.


The main objective is to update existing data and collect new data forming a good foundation to attain better monitoring and better programming for refugee interventions. Through the partnership with World Bank, data will also be collected on the socio-economic profile of the refugees in using 10 Golden Questions for Poverty and Vulnerability Assessment.

These Golden Questions will eventually contribute to the World Banks National Household Budget Survey for both the refugees and the host community.


Responsibilities


  • The Team Leader will have as key responsibilities;
  • Guide the verification of family composition
  • Support verification of bio-data
  • Guide the collection of education data from both COO and COA
  • Support collection of occupation data from both COO and COA
  • Support COA address and mobile number
  • Support data collection for the socio-economic assessment
  • Flag special needs cases
  • Refer conflicting bio-data information to UNHCR registration staff present at the field post
  • Refer changes in family composition
    to UNHCR registration staff present at the fieldpost
  • Refer closed/inactive and unregistered individuals to UNHCR registration staff present at the field post
  • Take care of assigned verification equipment and bring back to control center to upload data on daily basis
  • Report to the Field marshal
  • Perform other related duties as required.


    Requirements


  • Completion of secondary education preferably with post-secondary training or certificate in social science, statistics,mathematics, information technology or related fields.
  • Relevant experience in survey
  • Computer skills.
  • Good knowledge of English and local language
  • Training in basic principles of international protection.
  • Experience in working with UNHCR progress and BIMS software.
  • Knowledge of another relevant UN language.
