UN-Habitat Programme Management Officer Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Support the operationalization of the Technical Centre for Disaster Risk Management, Sustainability and
    Urban Resilience (DiMSUR) being established in Maputo, Mozambique, and covering initially four countries in southern Africa.
  • Participate in projects and activities regarding the further development and implementation of the City
  • Resilience Action Planning (CityRAP) Tool in different countries and cities, in coordination with DiMSUR and concerned country offices;
  • Undertake outreach activities and making presentations on DiMSUR, CityRAP and other initiatives related to risk reduction and urban resilience;
  • Establish partnerships with other institutions (academic, research, NGOs, UN Agencies, bi/multi-lateral cooperation programmes) for developing and implementing urban resilience work in the region;
    Contribute to the production of UN-Habitat knowledge on these topics through publications and research articles;
  • Support the formulation of project proposals and follow-up with potential donors;
    Undertake field missions as necessary to support the implementation of the different activities at the country level;
  • Support efficient and effective management of project resources, including budget, as per approved project document or substantive work plan;
  • Undertake regular reporting of activities both to donors and within UN-Habitat and the UN Secretariat.
