Unga Holding Human Resource Manager Jobs in Kenya; The HR Manager leads the implementation of robust HR plans, optimizes business performance, maximizes workforce productivity across all functions, and ensures world‑class standards in line with HR policies and industry best practices. The role delivers a seamless blend of agile operational execution and long‑term strategic HR support, while providing strong functional leadership, mentorship, and development to the Human Resource Advisor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

HR Costs & Workforce Planning

  • Structure and implement productive workforce plans within budgeted costs.

  • Manage HR financial strategies by forecasting human capital requirements and market trends.

  • Monitor staff costs and headcount budgets to ensure strict alignment.

    HR Operations

  • Partner with Plant Managers to translate business needs into actionable people requirements.

  • Analyze HR trends and metrics to develop targeted solutions and policies.

  • Update HR policies, train staff, and ensure flawless implementation.

  • Oversee preparation and submission of HR reports.

  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements to reduce risks and ensure compliance.

  • Review absenteeism and timekeeping, develop mitigation plans.

  • Ensure comprehensive annual leave plans are tracked and adhered to.

  • Drive organizational culture and performance initiatives (CI, CSR, GPTW, teambuilding).

    Learning and Development

  • Enhance competencies through L&D strategies.

  • Maintain Personal Development Plans, onboarding plans, and quarterly F2F sessions.

  • Oversee departmental and individual learning programs.

  • Evaluate training programs to ensure objectives are met.

  • Identify training needs and executive coaching requirements.

  • Participate in employee engagement strategy and deliver engagement activities.

    Performance & Talent Management

  • Drive implementation of talent management framework.

  • Align staff to business objectives to embed performance culture.

  • Coordinate performance management cycle and reporting.

  • Collaborate with
    leaders to achieve L&D KPIs.

  • Support succession planning and career paths.

  • Provide coaching during Performance Improvement Plans (PIP).

  • Recruit talent through effective hiring systems and tools.

    Employee Relations

  • Act as internal consultant to management and employees to resolve grievances.

  • Manage disciplinary processes in compliance with Kenyan labor laws and Unga Code of Ethics.

  • Establish and sustain relationships with the Union, ensuring compliance with CBA.

  • Anticipate organizational issues, propose solutions, and represent employee perspectives.

    Job Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or business‑related field.

  • Minimum 8 years’ HR experience, with 3 years in a similar role in manufacturing.

  • Professional Membership (IHRM) with valid practicing certificate.

  • CHRP Certification.

  • Strong understanding of labor laws and industrial relations.

  • Working knowledge of HRIS.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft suites.
