UNEP Programme Management Officer Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Participate in programme/project development, implementation and evaluation.

  • Monitor and analyze programme/project progress, review documents and reports, identify issues and propose corrective actions.

  • Liaise with relevant parties and track follow‑up actions.

  • Perform consulting assignments, facilitate workshops and assist in developing client action plans.

  • Research, analyze and present information from diverse sources.

  • Assist in policy development, reviews and evaluations.

  • Undertake survey initiatives, design data collection tools, analyze responses and prepare conclusions.

  • Prepare written outputs including background papers, reports and publications.

  • Provide substantive support to meetings and conferences, including agenda preparation and presentations.

  • Conduct outreach activities, training workshops and seminars.

  • Participate in or lead field missions, guiding consultants and officials, and drafting mission summaries.

  • Coordinate budget and funding activities, prepare related documents and reports.

  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, providing insights through data visualization.

  • Perform other duties as required.

    Education

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Public Health, Interdisciplinary Studies, Social Sciences or related field required.

  • First‑level degree with qualifying experience may be accepted.

  • Training in data analytics, business analytics or
    data science desirable.

    Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ progressively responsible experience in project or programme management in One Health, biodiversity, climate or pollution linked to health required.

  • At least 2 years’ relevant work experience in developing countries required.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in international organizations such as the UN required.

  • Experience in international interagency initiatives involving health and environment sectors desirable.

  • 2 years or more of experience in data analytics or related area desirable.
