UNEP Intern- Collective Intelligence for Environmental Governance Jobs in Kenya
Organizational Setting:
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. Effectively addressing global environmental challenges depends on a well-functioning and coherent governance framework and on a common understanding of each actor’s role and mandate.
Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) form a core part of International Environmental Law (IEL) and play a key role in international environmental governance. To support the efforts by international environmental governance fora to bring greater coherence to the development, implementation and enforcement of IEL, by Parties to MEAs with the support of civil society, the InforMEA project harnesses technological advances to enhance access to information and knowledge on MEAs and IEL for the benefit of stakeholders tasked with the further development and implementation of IEL and conventions.
