Uganda Red Cross Accounts & Administration Clerk Jobs


Introduction

    Responsibilities

  • Follows up, receives and reviews accountability from the field before submission to URCS HQ, shares feedback with field officers immediately;
  • Generates the monthly closures of the accounts under his/her care by the 10th of each month;
  • Ensures the proper filing and safe custody of financial and administrative documents at branch level;
  • Ensures a regular update of the inventories relating to the project at field level;
  • Proactively follows up on incomplete financial documentation and pending settlement of advances with the respective officers to avoid delays in bookkeeping;
  • Organizes photocopying, sorting and dispatching the financial documents to URCS HQ;
  • Manages the project field petty cash and monitors the office cash flow;
  • Assists in procurements and independently processes comparative bid analysis for approval by the supervisor;
  • Organizes stationary and other office supplies;
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum (1) years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Work experience with a donor funded institution will be an added advantage;
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of an accounting software.
  • Sound knowledge and skills in database management and statistical analysis, monitoring and evaluation or public health information management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, competency and professional skills on the public health aspects of infectious disease control, epidemic and pandemic preparedness and response with particular attention to application of an all-hazard approach in the context of the International Health Regulations (IHR), Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) and the use of event based and indicator based surveillance.
    Knowledge
  • Full computer literacy with proficiency in the application of all MS Office functions, especially Excel ;
  • Excellent English communication skills including proven proficiency in drafting official letters and other documents;
  • A proactive approach to work, the ability to handle multiple tasks and to maintain a high quality standard when working under time pressure;
  • A mature personality of high integrity with great team working skills, a courteous attitude and a clear sense of confidentiality;

    Uganda Red Cross Performance Monitoring and Evaluation (PMER) Manager Jobs

    Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in program/project planning process and budgeting for activities by departments;
  • Provide technical support in the performance planning and M&E for departments, Branches in line with URCS’s M&E framework;
  • Develop mechanisms to supervise regular data collection on programs and projects implemented in branches;
  • Coordinate implementation of baselines surveys, midterm reviews and final programs/projects evaluations of all activities in line with the URCS M&E Framework;
  • Provide technical support to departments, branches and partners in reporting and Documentation in relation to key learnings, best practices, implementation models, governance processes and impact realization;
  • Prepare periodic program/project activity reports and institution positions papers for management, partners or stakeholders as my be required from time to time;
  • Participate in URCS fund-raising initiatives as guided by the URCS fundraising strategy;
  • Perform any other duties as may be required by your functional supervisor.

    Qualifications

  • Post-Graduate qualification in monitoring and evaluation, Project Planning and Management, Health information science.
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or Economics or a related field from a reputable organisation; Training in;
  • Emergencies and Relief operations/ Disaster Risk Reduction.
  • Minimum
    of 3 years relevant experience in Planning, M&E or in implementation of humanitarian and development projects from a reputable NGO organization
  • Sound knowledge and skills in database management and statistical analysis, monitoring and evaluation or public health information management.

    Uganda Red Cross Manager - Epidemic and Pandemic Preparedness and Response Jobs

    Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and effective implementation of the CP3 project;
  • Lead in the design and roll out of surveillance guidelines, protocols, surveys and monitoring surveillance systems for detection, verification and local response to public health incidents across branches ensuring efficient data collection, correlation, analysis, interpretation, timely reporting and dissemination of information/alerts to all stakeholders;
  • Work with branches and volunteers to institute mechanism for disease outbreak surveillance guided by accurate data collection in collaboration with civil society, the media and health facilities;
  • Coordinate the establishment of functional health emergency response teams in branches, early warning systems for epidemic and pandemic- prone branches diseases for early detection and response to potential hazards to infectious human and Zoonotic diseases;
  • Develop appropriate contingency plans for building the capacity of communities to conduce surveillance, alert and respond to health emergencies in accordance with the NS response protocols;
  • Contribute to the profiling of the health department through preparation departmental strategies, research and learning initiative, develop concept notes and abstract on health issues, prepare periodic reports and other ad-hoc reports;
  • Carry out broad consultations on policies, strategies, smart practices and approaches to national health security and related issues to support program development planning, management, implementation and delivery of results, and lead NS policy development in the area;
  • Participant in resource mobilization efforts as guided by URCS fundraising strategy;
  • Perform any other incident-specific duties assigned to you, as may be required by the functional supervisor.

    Qualifications

  • Post graduate training in public health, Epidemiology, Health information Management or public management of communicable diseases from a reputable institution.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Medicine and surgery or Veterinary Medicine/Science from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum 3 years related experience, at the national and international levels, in quantitative epidemiology and the implementation of public health surveillance, outbreak investigation and response.
  • Prior humanitarian working experience with recognized Humanitarian Organization or with an international Non-Governmental Organization with expertise in health emergencies response;
  • Previous experience in implementation of Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR).
  • Working experience at field level with recognized Humanitarian Organization or with an Organization with expertise in health emergencies response
