Job purpose

  • The position holder will be responsible for coordination and overseeing the implementation of care and treatment services in UPMB member health facilities.

  • This person will provide technical assistance to the Regional or field based teams to ensure
    timely and quality accelerated service delivery.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate implementation of all HIV Care and treatment activities related in the ACE FORT region spported by UPMB.

  • Provide oversight for the mentorship of prevention, care treatment services in supported HFs in line with MoH policies and procedures. Synthesize quarterly clinical assessment reports of

  • implementing Health facilities (NIFs) performance and give technical advice to the
    senior project management team .

  • Maintain current knowledge of HIV/AIDS & TB patient’s standard of care at the implementing Health facilities through regular training activities.

  • Coordinate central/ regional Continuing Medical Education sessions so as to ensure
    professional development of the clinical teams.

  • Coordinates and leads targeted Technical Assistance to Implementing Facilities.

  • Prepares periodic reports on Technical Assistance and training activities as may be
    required by the SPMT.

  • Work with the relevant regional/Diocesan personnel to ensure provision of an integrated information package for improving prevention care and treatment.

  • Support community demand and community based activities for prevention services in the supported areas to improve identification, linkages and suppression of HIV.

  • Strengthen documentation and records management for clinical services in the UPMB MHFs

  • Any other assigned duties in
    line with your role.

    Education, Key Competencies and Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Public Health

  • Bachelor’s degree in medicine and Surgery

  • Specialized training in HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment will be an added advantage.

  • Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council

  • Experience working in HIV/AIDS services within the PNFP health care setting, and in NGO setting will be added advantage.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in HIV services management.

  • Experience providing technical assistance to large scale HIV/AIDS HSS interventions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Knowledge of USG and PEPFER programming policies and regulations, and Faith based procedures and practices.
