The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council is a semi autonomous Health Professional Regulatory and supervisory body under the Ministry of Health established by Uganda Nurses and Midwives Act, 1996(CAP 276) with the mandate to set and regulate standards training and practice of Nursing and Midwifery professions in Uganda for public health safety.

To effectively deliver its mandate, the Council seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:


To assist with the development of information systems strategies, protocols and controls which ensure that Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC) complies with the National Information Security Strategy (NISS) and the Access to Information Act.


Responsibilities


  • To monitor and develop UNMC Data and information Management Strategy including Data protection, information audit and data consistency;
  • To review and monitor the implementation of Record management procedures and standards in liaison with records management team;
  • To provide electronic record management services;
  • To maintain and regularly update the UNMC Database;
  • To ensure consistent responses in relation to data subjects and requests from Partner Organizations and accordance with Council policies and procedures
  • To review and monitor UNMC information systems security and integrity, data and information security in relation to data transfer and disclosure;
  • To sensitize the stakeholders on different data related requirements including new registrations and updates and or adjustments;
  • To manage and maintain the Council’s systems network;
  • To maintain a computerized database of all Council records for
    easy storage, update and retrieval;
  • Any other duties as assigned from time to time, in line with the position


    Requirements


  • A Bachelors degree in Statistics, Computer Science and Business Information Technology obtained from a recognized awarding institution
  • At least two years working experience from a reputable organization performing similar or related duties
  • High level of confidentiality, professional and ethical conduct
  • Good interpersonal relations and team work
  • Advanced knowledge of modern computer software packages and hardware maintenance
  • Systems networking skills
  • Ability to produce reports
  • Good communication skills and customer care is paramount
  • Teamwork and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Time management
