Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council Quality Accounts Assistant Jobs in Uganda

The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council is a semi autonomous Health Professional Regulatory and supervisory body under the Ministry of Health established by Uganda Nurses and Midwives Act, 1996(CAP 276) with the mandate to set and regulate standards training and practice of Nursing and Midwifery professions in Uganda for public health safety.

To effectively deliver its mandate, the Council seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:

To assist in the smooth running of the accounting and financial management function in the Council

Responsibilities

To enter financial transactions into the commitment control register;

To raise payment vouchers for approved payments

To write cheques

To issue receipts for collected revenue

To maintain the cash book and update ledger

To prepare monthly reconciliation reports

To perform cash payment duties

Any other duties as assigned from time to time, in line with the position

Requirements

A minimum of a diploma in Accounting or Business Studies or their equivalent from a recognized awarding institution

At least two years of experience in a busy corporate environment

Experience in handling cash, deposit slips, revenue and expenditure is desirable

Confidentiality

Integrity

Knowledge of basic computer programmes including Access, Excel and Microsoft word

Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing the nursing fraternity
