Uganda National Oil Physical Planning Officer Jobs in Uganda



The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Ltd was established under the Petroleum
(Exploration, Development and Production) Act and the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion,
Transmission and Midstream storage) Act, both of 2013 and incorporated under the
Companies’ Act, 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of
Uganda.


Participate in the implementation and update of the Master Plan for the Industrial Park in accordance with the KIP Program Roadmap, in
liaison with the key stakeholders.


Responsibilities


  • Designate and strictly manage the zoning of developments and the design all the Plots
    and servitudes in the Masterplan in liaison with stakeholders.
  • Set up and manage an approval process for the developments in the park and the
    handling of applications for modifications in liaison with the National Planning Board and
    other authorities.
  • Preparation of cadastral layouts, and land demarcations, within the KIP, including
    marking on site the boundaries of this demarcations.
  • Maintain accurate records of the Masterplans as they are progressively updated, and the development plans that are submitted and maintain a clear record of the approved
    plans and drawings.
  • Formulate manuals, guidelines and systems for the assessment of development plans
    and modifications in Plot size and zoning;
  • Prepare and implement a risk management framework for KIP physical planning.
  • Incorporate the requirements of Physical Planning in QHSE strategy for the KIP project
    area.
  • Monitor and report on construction activities within the KIP project area to ensure that projects are completed per design deliverable, quality standards and that pre-start up safety reviews are conducted.
  • Liaise with the neighboring physical planning authorities and raise any issues that may enhance or affect the KIP plans.
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned within the scope of the Job role.


    Requirements


  • An honors bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or Regional planning, Spatial planning,
    physical planning or other related discipline.
  • Professional registration with the Uganda Institute of
    Physical Planners is mandatory.
  • Professional registration with any other relevant regulatory body or its equivalent in
    the Commonwealth will be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of GIS is a necessity.
  • A minimum of 5 (five) years’ post degree experience in the practice of urban and
    regional Planning including large housing and development estates.
  • Experience in the planning of industrial parks will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry will be an added advantage.
  • A self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision with strong organizational
    skills
  • High level written and oral communications skills
  • Must be results-oriented, a team player, exhibiting high levels of enthusiasm, tact,
    diplomacy and integrity
  • Experience in research, strategic theme development, project management and
    programming-related work
  • Quality orientation/attention to detail skills
  • Risk Management and negotiation skills
