Uganda National Oil Manager, Human Resources Jobs in Uganda



The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Ltd was established under the Petroleum
(Exploration, Development and Production) Act and the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion,
Transmission and Midstream storage) Act, both of 2013 and incorporated under the
Companies’ Act, 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of
Uganda.


Responsibilities


  • Participate in the development and implementation of Human Resource policies,
    strategies, systems and tools.
  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of plans and budgets of the human resources operations and prepare of periodical reporting on the same.
  • Coordinate the recruitment processes and employee induction and orientation program
    in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a human resources information system.
  • Coordinate the periodic review of the Company Organogram and job profiles ensuring
    alignment with the Corporate strategy.
  • Coordinate the staff performance review programs to ensure effectiveness and
    compliance within the organization.
  • Conduct periodical salary surveys within the labor market and recommend competitive
    wage rates.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of staff training and development programs.
  • Oversee the implementation staff welfare initiatives across the business units including
    leave management, staff events and bereavement.
  • Supervise and manage outsourced services including cleaning, health insurance and
    catering services and prepare periodical contract management reports.
  • Design and coordinate Corporate Teambuilding engagements to enhance staff
    motivation and enhance relationships.
  • Supervise, appraise and develop the Human Resource staff in the department.
  • Represent the department at personnel-related meetings and events.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.


    Requirements


  • Master’s degree in Public Administration, Management, Business Administration or
    other related Master’s degree.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration, Human Resource Management, Arts or Business Administration (Human Resource
    Management option) or other relevant degree.
  • Possession of the relevant professional membership is an added advantage.
  • Proven eight (8) years of operational
    HR experience of providing a senior generalist HR
    service across a full range of HR issues.
  • Work experience in the Oil and Gas sector is an added advantage.
  • Must have excellent communication, personnel management skills and a high level of
    integrity.
  • Experience of building and developing the capacity of HR staff through the use of training, performance management frameworks and development plans
  • Excellent planning, coordination and reporting skills
  • Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people, both internally and
    externally
  • Excellent skills in handling and advising on complex people management issue.
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong communication (written and spoken) in English.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiencies, including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management.
