Uganda Cancer Institute Medical Social Worker Jobs

Job Purpose:

To participate in the formulation and implementation of Policy, guidelines and standards related to provision of social and welfare services to patients of the Institute

Qualification:

Must hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration (SWASA)

A postgraduate qualification in Psycho-social support or Health Systems Management.

Should have three (3) years’ working experience at the level of Medical Social Worker.

Planning, organizing and coordinating; Information Communication Technology (ICT); Teamwork; Communicating effectively; Concern for quality and standards; Results-oriented and Networking.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Participate in planning and budgeting for social work services in the Institute.

Interviewing patients and relatives with social needs.

Offering psycho-social support, social care and emotional therapy to patients.

Participating in research activities.

Carrying out home follow-up visits to patients.

Managing and accounting for the resources allocated for social work programmes.

Reports compiled and submitted.

Any other duties that may be assigned.
