Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

Drafting legal opinions and reports on various issues affecting the Council.

Undertaking legal audits to measure the Council’s level of compliance with various legal requirements.

Drafting leases, agreements, and memorandums of understanding.

Participating in the review of the Council’s policies to ensure that they are in line with relevant laws and Government Circulars.

Obtaining information and evidence on legal matters involving the Council and preparing instructions to external lawyers.

Representing the Council in court and other legal fora.

Informing contractors to renew performance bonds and insurance.

Requirements for Appointment:

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution with a one (1) year experience.

Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law.

An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid Practicing Certificate.

A registered member of the Law Society of Kenya in good standing.

Computer literacy.

outstanding professional competence in legal work as reflected in work performance.

Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
