Turkana County Medical Specialist (Internal Medicine) Jobs in Kenya

Requirements and competencies for appointment: -

Holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree or Equivalent degree from an institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board of Kenya;

Master’s degree in Medicine /Internal Medicine from an institution recognized by Medical
Practitioners and Dentists Board of Kenya;

Certificate of Registration as medical practitioner by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board of Kenya;

Specialist recognition certificate from KMP&DB;

Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board of Kenya (KMPDB).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reviewing patients medical history and planning the best procedure for treatment;

Undertaking “First-on-call duties including clerking investigation and managing patients

Conducting weekly clinics and theatre days

Managing health facilities at various tiers in communities.

Responding to intern call, trainings, supervising and mentoring medical officers(intern) and other students

Performing emergency surgeries, undertaking medical examinations and preparing medical Board proceedings

Carrying out community diagnosis, care and treatment

Ensuring data and information is collected, transmitted and utilized to benefit the customer and service provider

Conducting disease surveillance. prevention and control;

Carrying out health education and promotion and preparing medical reports.
