Background

  • The Bishop Gassis Relief and Rescue Foundation (BGRRF) is a newly established organisation, with its Head Office in Nairobi, Kenya. This organisation has grown out of the pastoral services, and humanitarian and development programmes implemented through the Diocese of El Obeid (DoE) and South Sudan. H.E Macram Max Gassis, Bishop (Emeritus) of El Obeid, set up this foundation to continue the humanitarian work in the same areas of operation as the diocese, as well as to have the ability to respond to other areas of humanitarian need, as necessary.

  • The Foundation (BGRRF), in close collaboration with the Diocese of El Obeid is responding to the conflict in the Nuba Mountains in South Kordofan with a large-scale emergency programme. In addition to the emergency response programme, the organisation continues to run development, humanitarian and pastoral service activities in both Sudan and South Sudan. The activities include Health, Education, Women’s Groups, Voice of Peace Radio, Water and Sanitation provision and the diocese’s Pastoral Service Programmes.

  • BGRRF is committed to Safeguarding people within our programmes from Exploitation and Abuse and has specific policies on this commitment (including a Global Code of Conduct) which outlines the expected behaviour and responsibility of all staff, consultants and other organisational representatives. Any candidate offered a job with BGRRF will be expected to sign BGRRF Safeguarding Policies and Global Code of Conduct as an appendix to their contract of employment and agree to conduct themselves in accordance with the provisions of these documents

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates training and orientation for new technology
    users and helps them become familiar with equipment and networks

  • Ensures all users benefit from effective technology and efficient Internet access, and continually assesses needs and requirements

  • Ensures efficient and effective technology and Internet access for a group of users

  • Providing on-going support of company systems

  • Programming NAV applications

  • Migrating data to other systems

  • Managing settings for user groups

  • Create new and modify existing customization and integrations as requested by the departments.

  • Test functionality developed by the development team against BGRRF requirements.

  • Support and drive process change and communication in line with NAV best practice.

  • Assist with functional specifications of customizations and integrations required for NAV implementations.

  • General knowledge in ERP systems

    Qualification

  • MUST have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a Diploma in IT or a Related Field

    Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Software Engineering, Computers and Networks

  • Conversant with programing languages especially in CAL language.

  • Conversant with database management language (SQL).

  • Good knowledge in ERP systems.
