Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and clients to establish healthcare needs

  • Plan and implement nursing care interventions based on patient needs

  • Provide healthcare services including immunization, ante-natal care, and delivery

  • Refer patients and clients appropriately

  • Evaluate healthcare outcomes and prepare individualized reports

  • Make appropriate discharge plans for patients

  • Conduct assessment of school health needs and prepare periodic reports

  • Maintain records on patients’ personal and health conditions/care

  • Ensure a tidy and safe clinical environment

  • Ensure safe custody of in-patients’ belongings

  • Conduct home visits, follow up discharged patients, and provide continuity of care

  • Treat minor ailments

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Certificate in Nursing disciplines (Kenya Enrolled Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Midwife, Kenya Enrolled Psychiatric Nurse, or Enrolled Nurse/Midwife) from a recognized institution

  • Enrolment certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya

  • Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya
