Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will be responsible for:

  • Efficient management of registry services in a large department.

  • Specific duties and responsibilities will include supervision of various registries;

  • Planning appropriate office accommodation for registries;

  • Preparation and submission of budget estimates for the registries initiating appraisal and disposal of files, documents, and other records in registries.

  • In addition, the officer will responsible for supervision, guidance and development of staff working under him/her.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • Served in the grade of senior records management officer or in a relevant and comparable position in the public service for a minimum period of three (3) years;

  • Attended a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; and

  • Demonstrated professional competence and administrative ability in handling records management work.
