Tranquil Med Centre Head of Finance and Accounts Jobs in Kenya; The Head of Finance and Accounts will oversee the hospital’s financial management, reporting, budgeting, cash flow planning, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with statutory requirements, support executive decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis, and enhance financial sustainability as the hospital scales operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership aligned with the hospital’s goals and growth plans.

  • Oversee financial operations including accounting, reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, and cash flow management.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor effective financial systems, policies, and controls.

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and board reports.

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide monthly performance and variance analysis.

  • Manage tax planning, statutory returns, and ensure full compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

  • Advise the COO and Board on financial implications of business strategies and investment decisions.

  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.

  • Supervise the finance and accounting team to ensure accurate billing, claims management, payroll, and supplier payments.

  • Support funding, grants, insurance contracting, and cost control initiatives.

  • Champion the integration and optimization of financial systems (e.g. ERPs) for efficiency and data accuracy.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce,
    or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • CPA (K) or equivalent professional accounting qualification is mandatory.

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role, preferably in a hospital.

  • Solid knowledge of tax laws, IFRS, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven leadership in financial planning, team management, and stakeholder engagement.

  • High integrity, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.

  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
