Job summary

  • Working with the ICT Systems Manager, the job holder will be responsible for the development, customization, testing, deployment, and support of the new TMEA Resources Information Management System (TRIMS) modules and enhancements.

    Roles and responsibilities

  • Analyse user needs and business processes in order to map them properly with TMEA systems.

  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of all TMEA systems. Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems

  • Design, develop, customize, test, deploy and support Odoo ERP modules, reports, and interfaces.

  • Responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of TMEA systems both applications and databases.

  • Design procedures and SLAs for TMEA systems troubleshooting and maintenance

  • Responsible for the provision of staff ICT systems training, directly or through third parties, including development of a training plan

  • Implement IT standards and policies. Maintain documentation of ICT system processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.

  • Any other duties that may be assigned.

  • The job holder is further expected to promote and adhere to TMEA’s core values and ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures. The job holder will:

  • Maintain zero tolerance to bribery, fraud and corruption, and ensure the immediate reporting of any corruption or suspect behaviour that threatens TMEA’s reputation.

  • Apply the highest standards of controls and risk management practices and behaviours and embed a positive risk and control culture.

  • Demonstrate prudence, sound judgement and appropriate and timely escalations in management of all types of risk (including fraud risk) applicable to the role.

  • Understand and comply with the relevant end-to-end processes including applicable risks and controls.

  • Seek to identify, understand and escalate risk events/incidents/ issues on a timely basis focusing on fixing root-causes and taking ownership of identified
    mitigating actions.

  • Complete all relevant mandatory trainings within the stipulated timelines.

    Academic and professional qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or post graduate degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other relevant field .

    Work experience

  • Postgraduate degree holders must have at least 3 years relevant work experience in a busy environment preferably in ERP system implementation/administration.

  • Undergraduate degree holders must have at least 5 years relevant work experience in a busy environment preferably in ERP system implementation/administration

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Odoo development

  • Excellent knowledge of web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

  • Knowledge of Python development frameworks & Linux system

  • Experience with relational Databases (Postgres)

  • Experience on interpreting user needs and translating them into technical specifications

  • Outstanding grasp of information technology concepts and processes.

    Additional skills

  • Complete understanding of ERP and open-source concepts

  • Experience with JSON and Restful Web Service integration

  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, (GitHub)

  • Positive attitude and ability to comfortably accommodate change

  • A self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and effectively under minimal supervision.

  • A good team player.

  • Excellent planning and communication skills.

  • Ability to learn fast and execute accordingly.

  • Ability to proactively identify gaps and provide timely, cost-effective, and efficient solutions.
