Job Description

Strategic and Operational

  • Create, coordinate and evaluate the Financial Management System, including all relevant policies, processes and procedures including but not limited to financing, accounting, billing, auditing and treasury functions.

  • Select and operate the finance, accounting, information and record systems of the company in accordance with specified international standards.

  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports as required by the Deputy General Manager, General Manager, the Government, the shareholders, and the lending or other involved institutions.

  • Develop, analyze and interpret the operational and accounting information in order to appraise results in term of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and provide management reports in a timely manner.

  • Develop and implement effective financial and other internal controls for the organization, including Financial Risk Management System.

  • Responsible for tax planning and compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary tax and reporting requirements.

  • Provide input to the optimization of the company’s capital structure including debt, tax, depreciation and make recommendations on operational and structuring changes required to achieve these optimizations.

  • Support the Deputy General Manager in the structuring and negotiation of local debt, finance.

  • Manage the company’s existing debt finance, including responsibility for the debt service repayments to local debt providers.

  • Support the General Manager in the development and delivery of a five-year strategic plan for the company to be followed once the expansion plan has been executed.

  • Prepare financial analyses for contract negotiations and investment decisions.

  • Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.

  • Evaluate and recommend insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities and as per requirements of required institutions.

  • Coordinate and manage the IT requirements of the department including identification and implementation of appropriate technology solutions.

  • Ensure that summary of tax payables and receivables is made and presents for checking by the senior accountant on the specified time schedule by the tax authority.

  • Authorizing of documentation in finance office are correct and well documented

  • Reviewing any finance document which is going out for information

  • Ensure company smooth and cost-effective operations across all departments.

    People Management

  • Establish
    and maintain the finance, department to effectively accomplish individual departmental goals and objectives.

  • Provide clear and dynamic leadership creating an enabling environment that promotes exceptional performance.

  • Lead, motivate and maximize performance from finance team.

  • Ensure effective successive planning to grow the Senior Accountant to step into the position of Financial Manager at the end of your contract period.

  • Work closely with all departmental managers to accurately plan, forecast and analyze overall business performance.

  • Is responsible on store follow-up and well going, this is in respect to store management and Fixed Asset management of Finance Manual

  • Ensure that the values and principles of the ATP are disseminated, reinforced and maintained throughout the organization.

    External Relationships

  • Serve as primary legislative liaison relative to the company’s financial issues.

  • Build and manage relationships with the Ethiopian finance community.

  • Participate as required in the management of relationships with other key external stakeholders such as the Ethiopian National and Regional Government regarding tax and customs issue.

    Job Requirements

    Job Qualification Requirements

    Education

    • A minimum of BA or BSc Degree in Accounting or Finance from officially recognized University or College is required.

    Experience

  • Ten and more years of accounting and finance related work experience in similar industry is required. Experience in hospitality is a plus.

    Essential Knowledge or Special Skill Requirements

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Working knowledge of commercial and government accounting standards

    • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)

    • Experience with Peachtree Accounting software

    • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in both English language and the local official language

    Management of different beheveral staff
