About Us

TM Geothermal Operations Plc (TMGO), is wholly owned by TM SAS, a Paris registered company, which in turn is owned by the Shareholders Reykjavik Geothermal Ltd (RG), an Icelandic based Geothermal developing company, and Meridiam, a French based global investor and asset managing company, for the development of a geothermal power project in the area of Tulu Moye in Ethiopia, which has signed a Power Purchase Agreement and Implementation Agreement with EEP and the Government of Ethiopia for the project in December 2017.

Tulu Moye is located approximately 120 km south-east from Addis Ababa, relatively close to major markets for electricity. The intention is to develop a 520 MW geothermal power plant over four phases, with this first phase being a 50 MW Plant.

Overall the development program is 7 year 9 months in duration with Phase 2 being for an additional 100 MW, Phase 3 being 100 MW and Phase 4 being 270 MW (the “Project”).

About the Position

The Communications Officer will be responsible for public perception of a company. Managing this perception involves developing marketing and communication strategies, understanding the importance of timing and setting, responding to crises and setbacks, overseeing a team of diverse communications roles and ensuring that information released is consistent with the strategy at large.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing a cohesive communications strategy and execute programs to deliver communications objectives of TMGO.

Develop branding initiatives, internal communications and external media relations.

Crisis management and pre-emptive planning.

Cultivating an environment of readiness and alertness.

Managing a communications budget.
Organising different Events & workshops.

Maintaining

an awareness of company risks and threats.

Projecting a positive company image to the public.

Ensuring quality control of all information released and demonstrate strong results in PR output and/or influencer relations.

Managing TMGO websites, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages and other media relations.

Maintaining smooth contact and communication with our PR and Event advisers

Liasing with TMGO stakeholders, sponsors and customers to maintaing smooth relationship.

Reporting consolidation and presentation- Fortnightly / Monthly Steering Committees, Quarterly Board Meetings, Monthly Board Teleconferences, Monthly Stakeholder Reports etc.

Number of Position: One (1)

Duty Station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to site

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer

Remuneration: Commensurate with experience and market

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience

BA or MA Degree in Public Relations, Communication, Media or related fields

Minimum 5 years of experience in related role

Experience in Geothermal related work is an advantage.

Knowledge of written and spoken English and Afaan Oromifa languages
