The Science for Africa Foundation Human Capital Business Partner Jobs in Kenya;The Human Capital Business Partner will partner with leaders to implement the Foundation’s Human Capital Strategy by providing strategic and operational support to assigned departments and programmes. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role delivers people solutions that strengthen organisational effectiveness, promote a high‑performance culture, and support achievement of strategic objectives.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy Implementation

Align Human Capital initiatives with organisational objectives

Advise leaders on people‑related decisions and operational implementation

Stay current with HR trends and best practices to drive agility and adaptability

Organisational Development & Workforce Planning

Review structures, workloads, competencies, and role requirements

Align staffing plans with funding and identify capacity gaps

Performance Management & Talent Development

Support managers in setting objectives, conducting reviews, and addressing underperformance

Link performance findings to learning, career development, succession, and reward

Organisational Change & Employment Transitions

Implement HC actions in organisational change and transition plans

Coordinate consultation, communication, and transition queries

Reward & Remuneration

Support design and implementation of Total Rewards and Recognition programmes

Conduct salary reviews, pay equity analysis, and prepare recommendations

Support job evaluation, grading, and promotion framework implementation

Coordinate payroll inputs and validate records with Finance

Policy & Compliance

Design and oversee employee relations policies aligned with legal requirements

Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations

Develop and implement HC policies and procedures

Maintain accurate staff database and HRIS consistency

Conflict Resolution & Investigations

Investigate grievances, mediate disputes, and conduct internal investigations

Employee Engagement & Support

Promote positive work environment and support wellbeing initiatives

Address complex employee relations matters

Organisational Culture & Engagement

Support leadership in building respectful, inclusive, and collaborative culture

Conduct surveys, analyse findings, and track improvements

including DE&I outcomes

Human Capital / Business Support

Partner with departments to agree HC priorities and service standards

Support process standardisation, audits, and risk register management

Prepare people analytics and progress reports

Deliver assigned HC projects against agreed objectives and milestones

Person Specifications

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (Master’s degree an advantage)

Professional Qualifications

HR professional qualification (HND/CHRP)

Membership with Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)

Experience

Minimum 7 years’ HR experience, including 2–3 years in advisory/business partnering role

Experience in organisational development, workforce planning, job evaluation, reward, performance management, and organisational change

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
