The Nairobi Hospital was founded in 1954, since then the Hospital has excelled in medical expertise and services provision and has deservedly earned recognition throughout East Africa and beyond as an advanced diagnostic, treatment and referral healthcare centre.

Expansive investment in latest technology and medical equipment has enabled the Hospital establish leadership in medical procedures both ¡n Kenya and outside.

Over the years, the Hospital has grown to become one of the top healthcare institution in the region offering a wide variety of healthcare services.

In order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness ¡n service delivery, the Hospital ¡s seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer.

The right Candidate will provide visionary leadership to the Hospital, setting out direction for the future and have an excellent collaborative style that stimulates the trust and confidence of the Board of Directors, stake-holders and consumers of the services at the Hospital.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the right candidate will be required to:

  • Provide visionary leadership that inspires the highest levels of performance in the delivery of healthcare, business and operational administration;
  • Develop and oversee the team that manages infrastructure, culture, people, analytics and program implementation using the Hospital values and competency matrix, enhancing hospital infrastructure commensurate with program needs, assuring training, development, engagement, and retention of staff;
  • Maintain effective and collaborative relationships with the medical staff that inspire loyalty, ensures the ability to meet the health needs of the community and advances quality, patient safety and patient satisfaction;
  • Maintain an organized system of management and controls that ensure smooth function of hospital health system operations, timely accomplishment of goals, and physical, financial and human
    resource viability and success;
  • Ensure best practice, evidence-based approaches to consistently deliver exceptional, well-coordinated and integrated care that delivers high level outcomes and customer satisfaction;
  • Develop, implement and execute operational plans that guarantee timely strategic goal achievement;
  • Apply financial and analytical skills to lead, monitor and take actions that ensure the hospital health system’s financial stability and long term success;
  • Promote strong community relations and create collaborative partnerships that advance the interests of the Hospital and contribute to the health and well-being of the communities served;
  • Manage the functions within the Hospital health system in accordance with the direction set by the
    board of directors;
  • Apprise and recommend to the board of directors on matters that influence and impact the Hospital health system performance;
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships that enhance Hospital growth and create an environment that will encourage the recruitment and retention of qualified Staff;
  • Provide leadership that aligns and challenges the workforce, inspires loyalty and promotes fulfillment of the Hospital health system’s mission, vision and values;
  • Ensures legal, regulatory and accrediting compliance and represent the Hospital health system in relationships with local and international institutions and government agencies; and
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Key Competencies
  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Master Degree in Health Care Management, Health Administration (MHA), Healthcare Innovation (MHI) or other related areas
  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or other related field from a recognized University.
  • At least 10 years’ experience as a Senior Manager in Corporate Organizations
  • Good Leadership and Management Skills
  • Good experience in Customer Care
  • Knowledge of Procurement processes
  • Proven experience in Project initiation implementation and evaluation
  • Proven knowledge & experience in People Management and empowerment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Good knowledge of Hospital Information
  • Management Systems will be an added advantage
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Good background in turn around management and change management
  • Excellent team-building, innovation and organizational skills with integrity.
  • The ideal candidate should have valid
  • Education Testimonials, Certificate of Good Conduct, Tax Compliance Certificate, Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau
