Job Description

  • The Research Officer will be part of the Office of the Chief Economist team and will report to the Chief Economist.
  • S/he will be responsible for conducting research, reviewing articles submitted to the Bank thereby providing insights and up to date content for the Banks intellectual materials and newsletters.
  • S/he will support on sustainability reporting as well as M&E reporting.

    Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the identification of market demand and market opportunity to contribute to the growth of the institution
  • Assist in preparing presentations and speaking notes as required.
  • Contribute to original articles in the working paper series of the Bank.
  • Collaborates in the preparation of quarterly technical reports
  • Assist in the maintenance of research database and intellectual materials of the bank.
  • Analyze and resolve research issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support on an ad-hoc basis M&E analysis and reporting.
  • Support on an ad-hoc basis for Sustainability activities.
  • Conduct regular market survey/competitive analysis of the industry.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Social Science or equivalent.
  • A Master's Degree is a plus.
  • Preferably have 1 - 5 years’ experience in banking or/and microfinance sector
  • Experience in field research, data collection and analysis and report writing
  • Good at research
    methodology & procedure.
  • Good command in English.
  • Be able to communicate well with all staff, local communities, and authority.
  • Ability to perform task with minimum supervision.
  • High motivation, initiative, willing and able to travel.
  • Good computer literacy (MS Office, SPSS, Stata, or other analysis applications).
