The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of The Ombudsman) Director Complaints, Investigation & Legal Services Jobs in Kenya

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop, review and implement strategies/guidelines on complaints, investigations and legal.

Coordinate handling of complaints, investigations and legal services.

Design/facilitate mechanisms for formal hearings and inquiries.

Develop/review guidelines for Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Coordinate investigations on conduct in state affairs/public administration alleged to be prejudicial or improper.

Investigate complaints of abuse of power, unfair treatment, injustice or unresponsive conduct in public sector.

Advise on mediation and reconciliation mechanisms.

Provide advice on legal aspects of Commission, regulations and statutes.

Coordinate litigation matters with external advocates.

Enforce compliance with legal/regulatory frameworks.

Draft legal instruments based on policy proposals.

Manage complaints database.

Competencies

Served minimum 4 years as Assistant Director in Complaints/Legal Services or Investigations.

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline.

Master’s Degree in Sociology, Business Administration/Management, Law, Public Administration, HRM, Counselling & Psychology, Governance, Criminology, Forensic Science or equivalent.

Certificate in Leadership/Corporate Management Course (≥4 weeks).

Membership to professional body where applicable.

Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability.
