The Commission on Administrative Justice Assistant Director- Finance & Accounts Jobs in Kenya
Duties & Responsibilities
Advise the Commission on all financial and accounting matters.
Verify financial management and budget performance.
Oversee preparation and submission of statutory returns.
Oversee preparation of Commission papers on financial matters.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Ensure maintenance of proper books of accounts.
Conduct monitoring and evaluation of financial information systems.
Advise Commission Committees on financial matters.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
Mobilize and manage the Commission’s financial resources.
Ensure preparation of annual budgets.
Coordinate payment of suppliers in line with Commission policies.
Oversee design and financial aspects of donor agreements.
Manage statutory and regulatory changes impacting finance.
Ensure preparation of accurate statutory annual reports, monthly accounts, and balance sheet controls.
Ensure safe custody of Commission’s accounts and records.
Establish optimal accounting control systems.
Monitor accurate recording of financial transactions.
Oversee effective accounting management to ensure compliance with laws, policies, and standards.
Ensure safe custody of accountable documents.
Coordinate preparation of periodic management and annual financial reports.
Conduct cash planning and disbursement.
Ensure accounting for special funds set up under statutes.
Manage accounting information.
Coordinate rationalization of estimates, appropriations, cash flow control, and cost analysis.
Ensure statutory deductions are remitted to relevant authorities.
Liaise with tax authorities to ensure compliance.
Oversee commitment of funds and expenditure
trends.
Manage staff performance and capacity building of finance and accounts personnel.
Competencies & Requirements
Served in the grade of Chief Finance Officer or Chief Accountant (or equivalent) for at least four (4) years.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Finance option), Economics, Business Administration (Finance option), Business Management (Finance option), Finance, or equivalent qualification.
Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration (Finance option), Business Management (Finance option), or equivalent qualification.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA‑K) by KASNEB or equivalent qualification.
Certificate in Leadership/Corporate Management lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Valid registration with ICPAK or relevant professional body.
Met the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
