Job Description

Position Summary

To support the Product Quality team in Greater Africa in driving the successful transformation of the business in becoming a world-class sourcing organization by providing technical garment/apparel expertise and recommendations to vendors/factories and internal sourcing teams.

To drive the implementation of new apparel technical programs across the Greater Africa region. To participate in inspection related activities and coordinate quality assurance projects for the Greater Africa region.

Participants of TCP Ethiopia’s inaugural QA Apprenticeship program will undergo a comprehensive training curriculum consisting of classroom training and technical training out in the field at various factories.

Participants will be trained by seasoned leaders and subject matter experts and will develop practical skills and experience to operate on their own in the field of product quality.

Key Accountabilities:

Shadows an experience (Senior) Quality Assurance Auditor to network with vendors/factories and the Sourcing/Merchandising teams in conducting factory inspections and reviewing factories’ standards of the operation with the goal to ensure product safety, quality

and compliance of our products at the manufacturing level
Participates in Pre-Production Meetings to review Tech.

Packs and Ticketing Reports

Employs good prevention and problem solving skills to anticipate and rectify manufacturing related issues

Effectively follows direction in conducting risk assessments, factory evaluations and effective CAP follow-up to help factory improve their processes

Addresses any issues promptly pertaining to product safety, engineering or technology and prevents confirmation of bulk production.

Supports the department’s change of focus from Quality Control to Quality Engineering and Product Technology

Participates in relevant industry training in Product Technology, Safety Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Compliance

Job Requirements

Requirements:

University or college program graduate – major related to fashion, garment, manufacturing or related field preferred

Strong interest and desire to develop a career in the quality assurance field

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Good command of both verbal and written English and local language(s)

Possess a strong attention to detail and time management
