The Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency Senior Accountant Jobs in Kenya; The accountants are responsible for planning, organising, controlling, coordinating and implementing financial and accounting functions in the Agency. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

Job Specifications​​​​​​​

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:

Examining payment vouchers and post in vote book/budget control records;

Processing imprests, advances and other disbursements and remit statutory deductions;

Examining cash and Bank Reconciliation statements;

Preparation of cash flow projections and investment proposals;

Preparing financial reports and statements;

Providing safe custody of accounting records, documents and assets;

Maintaining imprest ledger and follow up on surrender of imprests;

Safe custody of the Agency’s records and assets under his/her jurisdiction

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ work experience three (3) years of which should have been in the grade of Accountant I or in a comparable position;

Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: - Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Finance, Economics, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance option), Business Management (Accounting/Finance option), or equivalent

qualification from a recognized Institution;

Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA K) Examination or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;

Registered with relevant professional body such as Institute of Public Accountants (ICPAK) Kenya, Association of Chartered certified accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent;

Proficiency in Computer applications.
