Job Details:

  • The Program Lead will play a critical role in the design and successful implementation of the Jasiri Program.

  • This role will be the face of the program for participants, leading all facilitated aspects, organizing and drawing diverse aspects of the program together to ensure a smooth and cohesive experience.

  • The Program Lead will act as Lead Facilitator in addition to managing a team of part time facilitators, and multinational guest facilitators, speakers and experts.

  • We are looking for someone experienced in leading entrepreneurship development programs, with a deep understanding of guiding businesses through the new business generation process from idea generation to market entry.

  • It will be a strong advantage to have experience as an entrepreneur.

  • The ideal candidate will have a keen grasp of effectual thinking, market research, customer development, lean startup theory, human-centered design thinking, market entry and start-up management principles. .

    Responsibilities

    • Guide a cohort of 50 individuals through a team formation, idea discovery, validation and initial market entry

    • Facilitate a practical progression based process drawing from Human Centered Design Thinking, lean, customer discovery, effectual thinking, systems thinking, rapid prototyping, amongst other frameworks

    • Give regular feedback and advice to participants and teams as they progress, across a broad array of topics and issues

    • Build relationships with participants and be the first point of contact for grievances, feedback and general problem solving

    • Brief, manage and ensure quality of contracted facilitators and speakers

    As Program Lead constantly gauge participants’ energy and understanding throughout the program and intervene when necessary

    Job Requirements

    Experience:

    • Strong experience in facilitating entrepreneurship development programs

    • Understanding of training methodologies and dynamic group learning

    • High level of competence and comfort leading group activities/sessions both fun and playful as well as reflective

    • Depth of life experience and mature communicating skills

    Education:

    • A Bachelor Degree in a relevant field such as Business Studies or Entrepreneurship

    • Certification in Facilitation Techniques is an advantage

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Language & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Preference will be given to candidates who can read, write and speak English (compulsory), French, Kinyarwanda, Swahili

    • Technical: Experience in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship support and development

    • Detail Orientation & Reasoning: Obsession with delivering a quality experience to the minute detail. Strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate strongly with participants and contractors. The ability to reason analytically and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects are required

    • Personal: High energy with an instinctive understanding of facilitating tools that work with various learning styles. Commitment to achieve program impact objectives with clearly defined timelines

    • Team: The ability to work independently and on a team is required

    • Other: The scope of the job may require some evening and weekend work during the intensive portions of the program
