Tharaka Nithi County Assembly Medical Specialist – Orthopaedic Surgeon Jobs in Kenya

Requirements for appointment:

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Be a holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B., & ChB.) Degree from a University recognized in Kenya;

A Masters Degree in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery from a University recognized in Kenya;

Registered as a Medical/Specialist by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council;

Have a Valid Practicing License;

Be of acceptable moral and professional standing;

Willing to undertake duties in person in any part of Tharaka Nithi County as they will be assigned from time to time.

Duties and responsibilities:

The Orthopaedic Surgeon shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:

Conduct weekly Orthopaedic outpatient clinics;

Conduct weekly major ward rounds;

Conduct Orthopaedic related surgical operations;

Respond to Orthopaedic related emergencies;

Interpret diagnostic tests such as CT Scans, MRIs, X-Rays etc;

Prescribe and administer medications as appropriate;

Supervise and train junior doctors, Interns and medical students;

Keep and update patients’ medical record/notes;

Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical team;

Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
