Key Responsibilities

Backend Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services using Java Spring Boot and Clojure.

  • Adhere to clean code principles and industry best practices.

  • Ensure code quality through pair programming and code reviews.

    Event‑Driven Architecture

  • Implement and maintain event‑driven systems using message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or cloud‑native equivalents).

  • Work on publish/subscribe patterns and streaming data pipelines for real‑time processing.

  • Optimize event flow for performance and scalability.

    Test‑Driven Development (TDD)

  • Apply TDD principles throughout the software lifecycle.

  • Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests.

  • Ensure high test coverage and effective bug diagnosis.

    Architecture and Design

  • Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to define microservices architecture.

  • Contribute to architectural discussions ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.

  • Integrate secure coding, data privacy, and compliance best practices.

    Performance Optimization

  • Monitor system performance and reliability; identify bottlenecks and implement solutions.

  • Conduct profiling, load testing, and caching strategies.

  • Work with platform engineering to optimize CI/CD pipelines.

    Collaboration and Leadership

  • Mentor junior engineers on best practices and new technologies.

  • Collaborate with product managers, QA, and platform engineers to deliver features on time.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or
    related field.

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.

  • Strong proficiency in Java and production‑grade Spring Boot applications.

  • Hands‑on experience with Clojure (mandatory).

  • Expertise in event‑driven microservices architectures.

  • Proven ability to apply and advocate for TDD methodologies.

  • Direct experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

  • Solid knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, caching layers (Redis), and RESTful API design.
