Job Description We are fast growing plastics parts manufacturing company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Control/Quality Assurance officer to own and lead all activities related to our imports and domestic Quality Control and Assurance. The QC/QA officer is expected to develop and implement all Quality Management Solutions (QMS) activities including but not limited to planning, scheduling, inspection, and testing.
He/She willensure that all company external and internal requirements are met before our product reaches our customers. He/Shewill be responsible for inspecting procedures and outputs and identifying mistakes or non-conformity issues.
Establish and manage QC/QA procedures to diagnose and inspect all returned products.
Devise and manage effective corrective action plans and root cause analysis procedures with the goal of ensuring customer satisfaction and reducing costs associated with defective products.
Perform inspection and root cause analysis on all returned products.
Prepare high level reports regarding root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
Lead and support operations team in creating test planning and inspection procedures during and after manufacturing.
Support and collaborate closely with Product Development and production teams during testing and validation of new and existing products.
Support Manufacturing teams throughout all stages of the Product Development lifecycle to ensure product are manufactured with the highest level of quality.
Lead and mentor young upcoming QC team members (inculcate culture of QC/QA to all staff).
Work cross-functionally with our suppliers for quality raw materials.
Collaborate with Customer Service Team to create an effective system/process to collect, monitor and analyze Customer Product Reviews posted online and on social media platforms and report findings and recommendations to management team.
Quality Systems – Develop and lead efforts to maintain ISO 9001 and customer certifications. Ensures that certification requirements are met while streamlining the quality system for optimum efficiency.
Understand and effectively utilize quality diagnostic tools such as PFMEA, SPC, DOE, Cause and Effect diagrams, 5 Why and DMAIC techniques among others.
Utilize the framework of the Operational Excellence Program (WCM) to initiate projects that will help drive continual process control and yield improvement activities for products while reducing quality issues and customer complaints.
Manage non-conformance and calibration programs.
The QC/QA in conjunction with the ISO Coordinator and other resources are expected to consistently audit the manufacturing process and support closing identified gaps.
Monitoring all operations that affect
Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output.
Report all malfunctions to the production Manager to ensure immediate action.
Review current quality standards and policies.
Ensure all legal quality standards are met.
Communicate with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections.
Product Quality Planning, Customer / vendor contact, 8D problem solving methodology; flow charts, continuous improvement plans, training, development and implementation of Quality procedures & policies, and leading various QA / ISO certification audits.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Technical discipline (i.e. Quality, Mechanical, or Chemical,).
Polymer chemistry Knowledge preferred.
Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and control standards.
Excellent numerical skills and understanding of quality assurance data analysis/statistical methods.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance roles.
Subject matter expertise in quality systems, problem solving and continuous improvement practices.
Experience integrating QC analysis and corrective action plans into databases like Salesforce or similar databases.
Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analysis.
3+ years’ experience in managing ISO 9001 quality systems (added advantage).
3-5 years’ experience with an expertise in chemical processing, wet chemistry metrology and chemical product formulation preferred.
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification required (added advantage).
Six Sigma Certification preferred(added advantage).
Lean / 6 Sigma Certification preferred (added advantage).
Quality Management Certification (ex., ASQ CQM, CQE) preferred (added advantage).
Good knowledge of MS Office and databases.
