Job Description

  • Tesfa Social and Development Association/TSDA is a Local Civil Society Organization established in 2000.

  • It engages on Poverty Alleviation, Health and HIV/AIDS Reduction.

  • The organization would like to employ qualified and enthusiastic OVC-Service Officer.

  • The post holder will be responsible to Support Implementing partners to understand and implement comprehensive OVC and primary prevention services to adolescents in the catchment areas, Ensure guidelines ,SOPs and manuals on OVC programming are distributed and implemented as per the standard, Facilitate capacity building trainings to Caseworkers ,social workers ,Economic strengthening teams to ensure it is cascaded to, Support planning and facilitation of technical workshops and capacity building training in OVC programming, HIV/AIDS, BCC, etc.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Implementing partners to understand and implement comprehensive OVC and primary prevention services to adolescents in the catchment areas.

  • Ensure guidelines, SOPs and manuals on OVC programming are distributed and implemented as per the standard

  • Facilitate OVC case Management and Monitor the case plan and collect, verify the service reports monthly and provide for the data encoders

  • Facilitate capacity building trainings to Caseworkers, social workers, Economic strengthening teams

  • Monitoring, mentoring and providing supportive supervision to service providers to OVC and their caretakers.

  • Follow-up and support in establishing village loan and saving association to reduce economic vulnerability of affected households and individuals

  • Support planning and facilitation of technical workshops and capacity building training in OVC programming, HIV/AIDS, BCC, etc.
    Ensuring the provision of high quality OVC
  • services by partners through regular follow-up and support.

  • Ensuring deliverables and targets on Comprehensive OVC are on the right track on regular bases

  • Drawing and documenting lessons, best practices and writing success stories.

  • Provide technical assistance to partner organizations in key areas of OVC programming, HIV/AIDS prevention, family approach to Palliative care and support

  • Represent TSDA in meetings, technical
  • working groups and other forums as needed
    Provide technical support project technical staff.

  • Support the development of annual and quarterly plans, monthly, quarterly and annual quality reports on timely bases.

  • Prepare and submit regular and timely performance reports to the OVC Service Director adhering to USAID web based reporting requirements

    Job Requirements

    Education

  • BA in Psychology, public health, Sociology other related field social science

    Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in comprehensive OVC programming and primary prevention in similar settings and a minimum of 2 years’ experience with USAID funded PEPFAR OVC and or HIV/AIDS programs

    Abilities and Skills

  • Skills and experience in operating, recording and reporting of OVC Program services using the web-based USAID OVC Program database, such as CommCare

  • Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and to represent the project in a professional manner at all times

  • Skill in determining priorities, strong interpersonal skill and positive professional attitude

  • Skill in MS windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, Power point), Web conferencing applications,

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill

  • Ability to work independently

    Language and Proficiency

  • Good command of Spoken and written English and Amharic languages
