Terre des hommes Innovative Financing Global Advisor Jobs in Kenya;The Innovative Financing Global Advisor will support Terre des hommes’ (Tdh) new global initiative on innovative financing, established to diversify funding sources and strengthen long‑term organizational future readiness.

In alignment with the global institutional initiative, the Advisor will drive learning, scoping, partnership development and early implementation of innovative financing approaches relevant to Tdh’s mission, programs and geographical presence.

The role serves as Tdh’s internal engine for financial innovation: building capacity, coordinating cross‑departmental work, engaging external experts and designing pilot initiatives that will contribute to the next global strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development and Leadership

Support delivery of Tdh’s innovative financing roadmap.

Conduct strategic analysis of market trends, donor shifts and emerging financing models.

Translate complex financing concepts into actionable opportunities.

Landscape Analysis & Knowledge Building

Map financing instruments, actors and mechanisms relevant to Tdh.

Facilitate internal learning through workshops and expert briefings.

Identify internal capacity gaps and propose strengthening measures.

Partnership Development

Engage external experts, donors, DFIs, financial institutions and academic partners.

Represent Tdh in relevant forums and build credibility in the financing ecosystem.

Explore opportunities to join existing mechanisms or consortia.

Pilot Design & Early Implementation

Coordinate design of pilots in strategic domains (climate, health, child protection, migration).

Formalize technical partnerships for implementation.

Document lessons learned to inform future strategy.

Line Management & Team Leadership

Provide mentorship and leadership to BDS teams.

Set objectives, supervise progress and conduct appraisals.

Recognize strong performance and address poor performance promptly.

Reporting & Compliance

Engage in report writing and review project reports.

Manage work plans and budgets in compliance with donor and Tdh requirements.

Submit

high‑quality donor narrative and financial reports on time.

Profile

Education

Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Development, Public Policy, Business Administration or related field.

Specific training in blended finance, impact investing or development finance.

Experience / Skills

7+ years’ experience in innovative financing, humanitarian and development finance.

Track record with financial mechanisms and instruments in humanitarian/development sectors.

Experience with multilateral development banks or consulting companies.

Ability to translate market intelligence into strategy and proposals.

Strong analytical, project management and communication skills.

Knowledge of INGO operational challenges an asset.

Experience engaging external experts, donors, DFIs or private‑sector actors.

Solid knowledge of impact measurement design and reporting.

Languages

Fluency in English (required).

Working knowledge of French (an asset).

IT Knowledge

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Salary

Determined in accordance with Tdh Kenya salary scale based on relevant professional experience.
