Tenwek Hospital Medical Officer Jobs in Kenya; The Medical Officer will provide high‑quality, evidence‑based medical care to patients while supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cardiovascular and other medical conditions. The role involves inpatient and outpatient care, emergency response, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic conditions.

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical care in line with clinical guidelines.

  • Participate in stabilization and management of emergency and critically ill patients.

  • Review investigations, formulate treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.

    Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, nurses, and other professionals.

  • Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and clinical audits.

  • Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment, and healthy lifestyles.

    Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records.

  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards.

  • Participate in continuous medical education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of
    Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution.

  • Valid registration and practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

  • Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS certification an added advantage.

    Experience & Competencies

  • At least 2 years’ post‑internship clinical experience in a busy hospital setting.

  • Experience in cardiology, emergency medicine, critical care, or internal medicine an advantage.

  • Strong clinical decision‑making and patient management skills.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and ethical practice.
