Tenwek Hospital Consultant Urologist Jobs in Kenya



Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough urology patient consultations in inpatient and outpatient settings, including history‑taking and physical examinations.

  • Diagnose urological conditions using laboratory investigations and radiological studies.

  • Formulate management plans, providing guidance on conservative, medical, and surgical treatment options.

  • Plan and assess patients preoperatively and perform urological surgical procedures.

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic urological endoscopy procedures.

  • Teach urology subspecialty topics to residents and medical interns.

  • Participate in quality improvement projects within urology and surgery departments, including mortality and morbidity conferences.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (oncologists, surgeons, nephrologists) to develop patient management plans.

  • Advocate for patients’ rights and access to urological surgeries.

  • Provide urological emergency services and perform emergency surgeries.

  • Diagnose and manage urological cancers (prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular) using a multidisciplinary approach.

  • Evaluate and guide treatment of urinary stones and reconstructive urology (urethral strictures, hypospadias).

  • Evaluate and guide treatment in andrology (male infertility, erectile disorders).

  • Manage urinary diseases including BPH, incontinence, neuro‑urology, and pediatric urology.

  • Perform advanced minimally invasive urological surgeries.

  • Engage in
    community outreach programs to raise awareness of urological health.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (donors, urologists, surgical societies) to facilitate service provision.

  • Assume leadership roles within the surgical department and hospital to contribute to service provision and institutional vision.
