Tenwek Hospital Biomedical Engineer Jobs in Kenya;We are seeking a Program Officer to plan, coordinate, and implement inclusive eye, ear, and hearing care projects, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, compliance, and sustainable impact.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate community, school, and facility‑based eye and ear screening and treatment

  • Coordinate patient referrals for specialized care and surgeries, ensuring standards are applied

  • Organize project review meetings, technical working groups, monitoring visits, and data audits

  • Prepare payment requisitions and ensure accurate documentation in line with donor requirements

  • Lead planning and coordination of project trainings

  • Engage stakeholders, including persons with disabilities, to ensure inclusive programming

  • Uphold safeguarding standards and promptly report violations or exploitation

  • Work with M&E Officer to develop work plans, budgets, and monitor expenditures

  • Contribute to resource mobilization and proposal development for project funding

  • Document and disseminate best practices and human‑interest stories

  • Maintain and update project risk register; report risks and implement mitigation measures

  • Ensure activity venues are accessible, inclusive, and safe for all participants

  • Support research, documentation, and dissemination of project outcomes and lessons learned

  • Coordinate project team travel and logistics for smooth
    implementation

  • Undertake other project‑related assignments as required

    Requirements

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or equivalent experience in inclusive eye, ear, and hearing care projects

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working on donor‑funded projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project/data management systems

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites

  • Good understanding of inclusive programming, disability inclusion, safeguarding, and protection principles

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with government, donors, health facilities, and partners
