The Technical Manager will be responsible for;

  • Taking charge of all technical functions within the company (Surveys, installations and support)

  • Guide the team through the development, testing of new technology and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively

  • Liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs.

  • Understand project requirements, coordinate resources and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Manages third party vendors eg ISPs, internal and external service lines and ensures compliance with agreed upon scope, timelines, and quality, SLAs, and other contractual agreements.

  • Prioritize and schedule user problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriate party.

  • External communications to first party technology providers for resolution of technical issues

  • Ensure all client inquiries are resolved in a timely and accurate manner and communicate effectively with client when necessary.

  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate and supervise work efforts when multiple stakeholders are needed to complete work.

  • Field incoming help requests from end users via e-mail and telephone in a prompt and courteous manner.

  • Build rapport and elicit problem details from users.

  • Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end

  • Communicate effectively with teams and clients

  • Understand project requirements, coordinate resources and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner

  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge and frequently asked questions

  • Manage and work with team for effective UC product demos

  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.

  • Develop and enforce network security policy

  • Provide an efficient working atmosphere to project teams and ensure objectives are met within stipulated time

  • Lead team in researching, testing and evaluation of new technology

  • Data centre management involving server upgrades, maintenance and data centre access control

  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.

  • Train and equip approved persons with knowledge and know-how of operation of the company software and technology

  • Work harmoniously with other technical staff to solve and pre-empt existing tasks and challenges

  • Identify and access the needs and resources, human or material for efficient execution of tasks and duties

  • Task allocation and performance evaluation of team members

  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the functional team consisting of installers and technical support.

  • External communications to first party technology providers for resolution of technical issues

  • Quality Assurance by monitoring, reviewing and validating all daily activity to ensure accuracy and timeliness and processing, as well as adherence to controls

  • Manage the process of communicating functional requirements to the top management team and oversee the
    formal planning, tracking, and reporting on project status.

  • Ensure standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place

  • Task allocation and performance evaluation of team members

  • Project scheduling and resource management

  • Test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.

  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.

  • Work with other departments in technical sales support to conduct demos and client visits.

  • Coordinate the support team

  • Provide an efficient working atmosphere to project teams and ensure objectives are met within stipulated time

  • Lead team in researching, testing and evaluation of new technology

  • Work harmoniously with other technical staff to solve and pre-empt existing tasks and challenges

  • Train and conduct assigned task/demos to staff and clients

  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

  • 2 years of technical support or other relevant experience

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive

  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Proven ability to coordinate technical functions from testing to commissioning
