Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Secretary/Chief Executive Officer Jobs in Kenya

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Head of the Secretariat.

  • Accounting Officer of the Commission.

  • Custodian of all Commission records.

  • Execute decisions of the Commission.

  • Assign duties and supervise staff.

  • Facilitate, coordinate and ensure execution of Commission’s mandate.

  • Ensure staff compliance with public ethics and values.

  • Implement Part IV of the Act diligently.

  • Perform other duties assigned under the Act or written law.

    Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Citizen of Kenya.

  • Holds a degree in Education from a recognized university.

  • At least 10 years’ experience in education, administration, management, HR or financial management.

  • Meets requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

    Duration of Service

  • Five‑year term, renewable once for a further five years.

    Compensation & Benefits

  • Gross salary: Kshs. 698,600 per month.

  • Airtime allowance: Kshs. 15,000 per month.

  • Annual leave allowance: Kshs. 50,000 per annum.

  • Official car (engine capacity ≤3000cc).

  • Medical cover: Inpatient Kshs. 10M; Outpatient Kshs. 300,000; Maternity Kshs. 150,000; Dental Kshs. 75,000; Optical Kshs. 75,000.

  • Retirement gratuity: 31% of annual pensionable emoluments.

  • Group Life Insurance: 3× annual pensionable emoluments.

  • Group Personal Accident cover: 3× annual pensionable emoluments.

  • Car loan up to Kshs. 6M; Mortgage up to Kshs. 30M at 3% interest.

  • Security provided by Inspector‑General of Police.

  • Daily subsistence allowance for local/foreign travel per SRC rates.'
