We are looking for a strategic and innovative professional to establish TJNA’s Knowledge Hub asa center of excellence that will be widely renowned for its provision of quality knowledge and capacity Development in tax and illicit financial flows across Africa’s tax spaces.

Our Client, Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) is a pan-African organisation and member of the Global Alliance for Tax Justice. We advocate for pro-poor taxation systems and the strengthening of tax regimes to promote domestic resource mobilisation. TJNA aims to challenge harmful tax policies and practices that favour the wealthy and those that aggravate and perpetuate inequality. Through policy influencing, it enables citizens and institutions to seek fair tax systems.

About the Role
In this newly established position, the Partnerships and Institutional Learning Manager will envision and execute how to efficiently impart and manage tax knowledge to audiences across Africa and beyond, through various trainings and learning as well as collaborate with different partners within this space.

You will lead the implementation of TJNA’s knowledge management and capacity development strategy. Core competencies include:

  • Leadership Management


    You will work closely with the Policy Research and Advocacy department and, the Strategy and Engagement unit to collaborate and support tax research reporting.

    Location: Flexible, with frequent travel to Nairobi, Kenya office

    Line Manager: Executive Director

    Start date: As soon as possible

    Contract Duration: 2 years, renewable


    In This Role, You Will:

  • Develop the Sub Grantee’s strategy, policy and systems.
  • Develop an action plan for implementation of the partners’ membership strategy.
  • Implement the learning management system in the Knowledge Hub.
  • Build and oversee the management of the Capacity Development, Partnerships and Knowledge Management unit with skilled staff to support the department’s objectives and align with the overall organisational strategy.


    Requirements
    Qualifications

    Bachelors’ Degree in International Development, Public Administration or Public Affairs, Social Studies or other relevant field. (Masters is strongly preferred.)


    Core Skills and Experience

  • At least seven years of professional experience, with 5 years in a leadership role at senior management level.
  • Proven leadership skills in management of teams, especially remote teams.
  • Proven experience in research, knowledge management, capacity building across multi-disciplinary functions.
  • Demonstrated partnership building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge of the development context in Africa,
    including a good understanding of Civil Society environment.
  • Proven experience in organisational planning, budgeting and resource allocation procedures
  • Excellent oral and writing skills in English. French is an added advantage.
  • Highly organized, analytical, strategic thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in civil societies and international NGOs is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with and commitment to working in a very diverse workforce.
  • Experience working in developed and developing countries and in multicultural environments.
  • Willing to travel, expected travel less than 25% of the time.
