Our client, CM ADVOCATES LLP is a premier legal and business advisory firm in Kenya and within the East Africa Community (EAC) providing its customers with a one-stop-shop for their legal and business advisory needs.

The Nairobi Head Office seeking to fill the following position:
Tax Associate

Principal Accountabilities:

Prepare any form of tax return and tax advice;

Developing and implementing business development and brand visibility strategies for the unit for both existing and new clients;

Make follow up with the Kenya Revenue Authority on client issues in line with requirements;

Prepare a statement of accounts in response to Kenya Revenue Authority demands;

Adhering to the Firm’s standard SLAs and TATs on work execution

Assist tax team in the development of articles including tax alerts;

Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation including developments in global and regional taxation, double tax agreements, transfer pricing, and related tax issues;

Attend tax appeals and tribunal matters;

Carry out corporation tax computations and advising clients on the tax liabilities and disclosures;

Manage the preparation and review of clients’ tax returns (PAYE, VAT, corporation tax and withholding tax) to ensure accurate and timely filing of all

tax returns;

Keeping clients updated on new tax developments through the Firm’s newsletter and news alert platforms;

Undertaking tax audit for the Firm’s clients; and

Preparation of monthly reports of all matters being handled in the unit as well as monthly billings and collection reports.


Qualifications, Experience, and knowledge:

Bachelor degree in Law;

Must be an Advocate of the High Court;

Minimum of three (3) years in a busy environment;

Strong tax technical knowledge across direct and regulatory requirements;

Writing and research skills.
