Taita Taveta County Director- Trade Jobs in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Guiding and supervising the implementation of government policies, strategies and
programs on domestic trade and investment;

2. Providing, consultancy and technical guidance of trade issues to the business
community;

3. Coordinating the development of wholesale hubs/whole sale markets and tier 1 retail
markets in the distribution value chain;

4. Managing business information data bank in the County directorate: and facilitating the
settlement of trade disputes and responding to public complaints/customer care issues

5. Coordinating, planning and administration functions of the County directorate:

6. Guiding and supervising staff in the County directorate: and coordinating preparation
of the directorate’s work plans, setting performance targets and budgets estimates for
the Department.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

1. A Bachelor degree in social Sciences in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce, Marketing, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Business and Information and Technology, Entrepreneurship, Economics or International Trade/Business/Relations from a recognized Institution.

2. A Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce, Marketing, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Business and Information and Technology, Entrepreneurship, Economics or
International Trade/Business/Relations from a recognized Institution;

3. Attended a Strategic Leadership Development Course Lasting not less than Six (6) weeks
from a recognized Institution.

4. A Certificate in Computer Applications:

5. Demonstrated thorough understanding of national goals, policies and development
objectives and the ability to them into trade development programs.
