Job Description

Position
Taam Cab is seeking a lead software developer to manage its app and website development.

Reporting
The head of software development will report to the managing director.

Job Overview
The head of software development will be responsible for improving Taam Cab’s ride hailing application and websites. This will include fixing any bugs, along with implementing new features and updates.

This role will involve both writing code as necessary and managing a team of other developers working on the app.

Core Responsibilities and Duties

Oversee a team of developers working on Taam Cab’s app and website

Create a strategic vision for technological development at Taam Cab

Draft and implement project timelines, and produce deliverables according to these timelines

Work closely with the business team in creating priorities for tech development

Maintain cloud databases containing app data

Develop code personally and review code written by the tech team

Ensure security standards for customer data

Maintain and improve the Taam Cab website

Job Requirements

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree or higher

5+ years managing software development.

Strong ability to develop code in .net and php

Ability to generate clear reports on development goals and progress

Experience in tech project development and management

Proven track record of successful technology development

Knowledge of relevant local tech regulations and challenges

Fluency in English and Amharic required

Fluency in other Ethiopian languages such as Oromo or Tigrinya a plus

Ethiopian citizenship

Willingness to be based in Addis Ababa, with the potential for future travel to other regions of Ethiopia 50% or more of the time as the company expands into new markets
