Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Check the raw material quality as per company specification

Make sure that the raw material in Humera meets the company’s raw material purchasing specification before dispatch to Addis Ababa

Take responsibility for the (intrinsic and organic) incoming and outgoing raw material in Humera

Take responsibility to review and follow- up on the organizational aspects of quality control systems and procedures in Humera and at sourcing level in general

Supervise and lead the extension workers assigned to quality checking at cooperative level and supervise and regularly report on the daily routine quality operations as a whole

Perform regular checks of the pest control in the cooperatives’ ware houses

Continuously review, update and improve quality documents and procedures

Assisting the lead agronomist/ procurement staff in all processes regarding organic certification

Assisting the lead agronomist/ procurement staff in planning of (internal and external) audits

Assisting the lead agronomist/ procurement and sourcing and project manager in yearly planning regarding the quality aspects of raw material purchases

Responsible to continuously update the data base of raw material sample results in EXCEL

Report to Sourcing and Project manager in Humera/ Addis Ababa and Quality Manager in Legetafo on a weekly basis, delivering information on

each lot tested. Reporting shall be done in written form via e- mail

Responsible for blocking and de-blocking raw materials at sourcing level, but only after consultation with the quality manager in Legetafo

Keep the lead agronomist/ procurement staff in Humera updated on the results of the performed quality checks

Be collaborative with all other staff based in Humera

Carry out any other assignment given by the employer

Job Requirements

Qualifications/ Knowledge and Skills
Required:

Bsc/Diploma or Level 4 certificates in Food science, Post Harvesting, Food Process Engineering and Related fields

Working knowledge of EXCEL

Working knowledge of English language- reporting to management will be in English

Strong communication skills,

Fluent In Amharic and Local Language/Tigrigna

Working Knowledge of English (All skills)

Strong social skills for effective working relationships

Adaptable and flexible

Passion for producing results that have an impact

Minimum requirements:

A least one year of work experience is a plus
