Sun King Electrical Engineer - Quality Assurance Jobs in Kenya; Join the Clean Cooking Quality Assurance (QA) team to lead testing, validation, and performance monitoring of electronic and electromechanical systems used in clean cooking products, including devices that enable pay‑as‑you‑go access to LPG. Collaborate with R&D, Firmware, QA, and Manufacturing teams to ensure devices are validated before release and continue to perform reliably in production and real‑world deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Validation

  • Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electronics and electromechanical hardware (control devices, sensors, communication modules).

  • Conduct firmware feature upgrade testing and pre‑release validations.

  • Investigate and diagnose hardware and firmware faults, documenting findings clearly.

    Quality Assurance
  • Perform QA testing of software used on manufacturing test stations.

  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and inspection checklists.

  • Support field inspection activities, including on‑site hardware checks and performance data collection.

    Requirements for Appointment

    Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.

    Experience
  • 1–3 years working with embedded systems, electronic hardware, or firmware testing.

    Technical Skills
  • Ability to read PCB schematics and layouts.

  • Hands‑on experience testing hardware and embedded firmware/software.

  • Familiarity with microcontrollers (ESP32,
    Arduino, Raspberry Pi).

  • Knowledge of communication protocols (UART, I²C, SPI).

  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, test automation, or data evaluation.

  • Skilled in using lab equipment (multimeters, bench power supplies, oscilloscopes).

    Competencies
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.

    Nice to Have
  • Experience with IoT products or connected device ecosystems.

  • Soldering, hardware rework, or PCB‑level diagnostics.

  • Familiarity with QA management tools or defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
