Summit Recruitment and Search Accountant (Construction & Engineering) Jobs in Kenya

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records, general ledgers, and account reconciliations.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment processing.

Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning.

Undertake project costing, contract cost analysis, and monitoring of project expenditures.

Ensure compliance with Kenyan statutory and tax obligations, including PAYE, VAT, WHT, NSSF, and SHA.

Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.

Strengthen internal controls, financial procedures, and reporting systems.

Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support management decision-making.

Maintain accounting systems and ensure accurate and timely financial data.

Collaborate with project managers, procurement, operations, and management teams to ensure effective financial management.

Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA(K), ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification, preferably at an advanced stage.

4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting, project accounting, contract costing, and financial controls.

Good understanding of Kenyan tax laws, statutory compliance, and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to meet deadlines.
